Verdi's third opera, Nabucco, draws on the Old Testament story of the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar and is one of the most frequently performed operas of all. The tale of a religious war and the exile of the Hebrews frames a romantic plot about two sisters, Fenena and Abigaille, and their struggle for the love of one man and of their father. Music full of immediacy, passion and temperament still captivates audiences worldwide.
The concert of famous opera arias, choruses and overtures featured music from Verdi's Aida, Rigoletto, La traviata and Nabucco, the celebrated chorus from Smetana's The Bartered Bride and Beethoven's Ode to Joy.
The closing film music concert built on the huge success of August 2022 – Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones, E.T., The Godfather, Angélique and French comedy classics such as La Grande Vadrouille, Le Gendarme de Saint-Tropez and Flic ou voyou.
